If you are playing these back on a Macintosh computer you will need to download the Flip4Mac QuickTime plug-in to playback these Windows Media Video (.wmv) files.

Please visit the Telestream web site for more information on the free Flip4Mac Windows Media Video to QuickTime plug-in:

http://www.telestream.net

Note: As of late July 2011 Macintosh computers running the Mac OS 10.7 Lion operating system have difficulty streaming Windows Media Video files even with the Flip4Mac plug-in installed. One solution for Mac users is to open these videos using Firefox. First you will have to change a setting in the Firefox preferences. To allow Windows Media Video files to playback while using OS 10.7:

  1. Open the Firefox browser,
  2. Click on Firefox from the menubar and open Preferences,
  3. Click on Applications within the Preferences screen,
  4. Scroll down to the "mms" content type (or do a search in the search bar for mms),
  5. Change the Action to Use QuickTime Player 7 (by dropping down the menu, choose Use other..., search for the QuickTime Player 7 application on your computer and select that application. QuickTime Player 7 is usually installed under Applications and Utilities on a Macintosh).

This will allow you to view streaming windows media video files using the Flip4Mac plug-in for QuickTime Player 7 (not QuickTime 10) while using the Firefox web browser.

See the screenshots below for the Firefox Preferences menu item location and the Applications tab chosen in Firefox Preferences:

Macintosh OS Firefox Preferences menu

Firefox Applications tab chosen with MMS dropped down and QuickTime 7 chosen

If you have a new Macintosh (one with the Mac OS 10.7 operating system preinstalled) you might not have an alternate (older) version of QuickTime in your Applications > Utilities folder. You will need to download an older version of QuickTime (version 7.6.6) from Apple's website available at: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL923.
