Pacific Ocean Sunset near Half Moon Bay Photography Information
Goal of the Photo
This photo was captured with just a few seconds left until the sun completely set beyond the western horizon of the Pacific Ocean on the winter solstice in 2016. The goal was to capture that frozen moment in time showing the immensity of the ocean and that magic moment just before the sun completely sets.
I believe this photo captures a sense of the size of the ocean contrasted with the brevity of this one sunset moment captured just before sundown. The sun creates a seashell-like shape as the glow extends out, up and over mimicking typical shell shapes one might find near the beach where this photo was taken.
Photo Post Processing
In Adobe Lightroom, basic contrast settings were performed on this photo to bring out the darks in the ocean and the highlights of the sunset. In Photoshop the image was cropped, resized and the logo was placed in the lower left corner.
